I will always have weightlifting straps in my gym bag. Not only do they cost less than $5 to make ($15 on Rogue), but they take up almost no space. They also come in handy when you’re tired.
For example, if you just did a metcon with a lot of toes-to-bar and pull-ups, you probably would struggle to deadlift over 80% of your 1-rep max after. Your hands would either be tender or your forearms would be tired… Straps would then allow you to lift the bar without further tearing your calluses or taxing your grip.
Instead of skipping a session when this happens, weightlifting straps help you continue to train.
Here’s a quick 90-second video on how to use them properly.
