EXERCISE

DO IT!!
THE END.
Just kidding.
Let’s first define WHAT I am asking you to do, then WHY, and then HOW.
WHAT:
I am asking you to come to class at least 5x a week.
I am asking you to do it CONSISTENTLY for at least 3 months; and then continue until you are 100+ years old.
I am asking you to stick to this training and recovery schedule even if you are sleepy, it’s cold, and you think you don’t need a rest day.
I am asking you to work on the 10 general physical preparedness skills: respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.
WHY:
“Fitness and health are the same thing.” You want to be healthy, therefore you are seeking fitness.
“An athlete is “a person who is trained or skilled in strength, power, balance and agility, flexibility, and endurance”. The CrossFit model holds “fitness”, “health”, and “athleticism” as strongly overlapping constructs. THEREFORE YOU ARE AN ATHLETE
Because I want and, most importantly, YOU want to live a long and healthy life. You want to be healthy, active, and enjoy all of your hobbies and adventures pain free and with full use of your amazing body.
HOW:
Simple answer:
Come to class, trust your coach, work on your sleep, stress management, and nutrition the other 23 hours you aren’t at RxFIT.
Elaborate Answer:
“We believe that preparation for random physical challenges—i.e., unknown and unknowable events—is at odds with fixed, predictable, and routine regimens.” So how do we make sure we do not fall into a fixed routine? We program “constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement.”
If you look at the daily WODs we ask you to do at RxFIT we are training endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. EVERYDAY in different combinations, for various lengths of time, and most importantly with your health and wellness in mind. (Coach Mig doesn’t just want to torture us.)
We are preparing you to lift your kids, help change a tire, sit on the toilet, climb mountains, run marathons, WHATEVER YOU WANT. General Physical Preparedness.
If you have more specific goals then you will require more specific training! YOU HAVE OPTIONS. Talk to us about scheduling a personal training session, come and participate in RxFIT PLUS, FORTE, or RxFIT Gymnastics.
Use your quarterly goal reviews as a catalyst to make a decision and then pursue your athletic goals!
